I have just arrived back from Cape Town and Plettenburg Bay, where I noticed driving around the Cape how silent the motor vehicles and motor bikes are.
In fact, on Sunday, on my drive back from Plettenburg Bay, we were passed by numerous motor bikes that had been out on their Sunday breakfast run and not a single bike had a noisy exhaust system.
This makes me question why the KwaDukuza traffic and law enforcement department is not doing its job in accordance with the National Road Traffic Regulations, Chapter 6, Part 2, Section 209 e: Exhaust Silencers and exhaust Pipes.
There are so many noisy vehicles and bikes in this area it is clear that there is a don’t care attitude.
There are also thousands of taxis on the road and you will not hear a single hoot, it makes you think.
I would like a response from the KwaDukuza chief traffic officer as to why his department does not apply the law.
