Letter: Thank you, Orphan Fund

"This "thank you" note is from all marginalised communities who received food assistance from The North Coast Courier Orphan Fund recently" - Rev Ben Ndaba and Dr Joe Ndaba.

The Rev Ben Ndaba and Dr Joe Ndaba of Groutville Mission write:

This “thank you” note is from all marginalised communities who received food assistance from The North Coast Courier Orphan Fund recently.

They sincerely thank all donors at Salt Rock and

Ballito who helped the NCC Special Covid-19 Relief Fund to provide much needed food assistance for indigent families here.

Monies collected enabled the fund to be launched.

The result was an impressive massive food distribution programme.

The communities that benefitted were Compensation, Driefontein, Nkobongo, Groutville/Melville and Nonoti near Stanger.

In conclusion, special thanks are due to:

a) Bruce and Rose Stephenson of the NCC and their kind staff for conceiving, planning and executing this wonderful food distribution project.

b) The NCC fundraising co-ordinator, Jane Armstrong, for her good heart,

c) All the compassionate ladies who helped prepare the soups, and;

d) Last, but not least, all the kind volunteers who offered transport to bring the food to our respective areas.

Having thanked you all, I need to say that our records show that in Groutville and Melville alone soups and food parcels provided meals to more than 150 desperate families at a most difficult time.
God bless you all!
