I have not been able to earn any kind of income for the last 4 months and despite this, we have had absolutely no relief from the municipality.
I am a commission-only earner and not entitled to any kind of assistance from government, be it grants or UIF.
I have been surviving with help from friends and a family member, but they cannot continue to support me and there may come a time where I am living with no water and electricity as I do not have money to pay for these services.
I am one of many people and soon to be many more in this area who now have no choice but to sell my property, as I am in severe financial debt.
Our voices as taxpayers and home owners MUST be heard. The municipality needs to assist us.
