The Covid-19 pandemic has ravaged lives and livelihoods in South Africa and the world.
No less in KwaDukuza, an emerging economy largely driven by tourism, which is one of the hardest hit sectors in the country.
This makes your proposed increases immoral; our residents and ratepayers have all lost some of their expected income to varying degrees – between 20% and 100%, so a sympathetic response would be to impose zero increase.
This would demonstrate that we are indeed all in this state of disaster together, and that the local municipality is sensitive to the plight of its residents!
