Letter: Vaccination centres confusion

"The centres in our area have no vaccination centre branding and when I walked past the Scout Hall, there was no information sheet to help us understand when they would be coming back" - Mike Gahagan.

Mike Gahagan of Ballito writes:

Please can I ask that you run a weekly update on vaccination centres open in our area.

And, if there are none, report that fact. There is so much confusion at the moment.

I know Ballito residents who have properly registered on-line and have travelled everywhere from Stanger to Umhlanga to Durban to Hilton to get ‘the jab’.

My wife and I and a neighbouring couple went to Shaka’s Head for our first one and were so impressed with the staff on duty.

What we didn’t realise was that it was only open for just those 3 days!

Despite the nurse telling us to go back on July 9th, when we received our second jab SMS notification it said ‘You received your vaccination at Townsend Park…’

The centres in our area have no vaccination centre branding and when I walked past the Scout Hall, there was no information sheet to help us understand when they would be coming back.

The general communication on this programme is embarrassing.

You said it.

We do publish information if received from the department of health, but they are not consistent – BS.
