Letter: Thank you, Ballito

On Thursday evening July 8, clouds of smoke billowed into the sky.

While the embers flickered, and the flames danced, the South African nation looked on aghast.

Malls and factories were burnt to the ground, and the looting on a scale that blew my mind!

But, the spirit and resolve of the South African nation, sparks an emotion of true celebration.

Standing together as never before, and sharing and caring as the needs are made known, a beer or two swopped for an ice cream cone.

Braving the extremely cold weather, our community stood guard day and night, while the rest of us were snuggled up tight.

Ballito community you were put to the test, and as it turns out you are the best of the best.

Thank you to every single person for your commitment to this community, and for keeping us safe.
