Letter: Missing my swim

"E.coli are expensive to exterminate, which is why the WHO specifies zero in drinking-quality water as its presence only indicates the potential for viruses harmful to human beings to exist" - Hugh Hodge.

Hugh Hodge of Salt Rock writes:

Missing my early morning swim in the sea, but it shall pass.

E.coli concentrations build up in all of our KZN rivers and streams during winter, only to be flushed out into ocean currents when the rains do come.

E.coli are expensive to exterminate, which is why the WHO specifies zero in drinking-quality water as its presence only indicates the potential for viruses harmful to human beings to exist.
