#Letter: Number please?

"My request to the Honourable Mayor and her communication team: Please fix this system or have message to answer callers stating "Out to Lunch"." - James Turner.

James Turner of Blythedale writes:

I have tried to call the municipality to find what I owe for rates. This is the message you get: Please press the following options:

1. Fire and Emergency
2. Electricity and Civil Department.
3. Financial Queries
4. Licensing, Community Safety, Community Services
5. Administration, Property, Human Resources, Information Technology
6. Housing, town planning, Building Control
7. Communications, Office of the Mayor
8. Counsel
9. Operator

Then if you choose a number, the message will be further broken down to further extensions.

There must be 20-30 extensions one could reach through this automated process.

My advice to the caller is: go there in person.

No one picks up any of the lines, not even the Fire and Emergency.

My request to the Honourable Mayor and her communication team: Please fix this system or have message to answer callers stating “Out to Lunch”.
