#Letter: Interesting political times ahead
"Some were forced, others were bought to say that they are happy with the service delivery they've received in the past five years, happy with high crime, unemployment, corruption, undocumented foreign nationals, drug dealers, high fuel and food prices, happy suffering immensely" - Nelson Puckree.
Nelson Puckree of KwaDukuza writes:
In political terms the people have spoken.
Some were forced, others were bought to say that they are happy with the service delivery they’ve received in the past five years, happy with high crime, unemployment, corruption, undocumented foreign nationals, drug dealers, high fuel and food prices, happy suffering immensely.
Now that ANC failed to get the majority it needed to control KDM, they have to go into coalition to govern.
I believe working with so-called king makers will be catastrophic, making the municipality ungovernable.
I propose Sanele Mthiyane for mayor, Commie Ntleko for deputy mayor, CM Naicker for speaker, Tamsyn Colley for deputy speaker and Ebrahim Kolia for exco chair.
Congratulations to all the elected councillors, although some have passed their sell-by-date.
To the new ones, now is the time for you to prove yourselves.
We will be watching you closely.
