#Letter: ANC stops the inauguration

"The ANC must stop dictating to the officials of the municipality, and let them do the job that they are employed to do" - Tammy Colley.

DA Caucus Leader in KwaDukuza, Tammy Colley writes:

The ANC in KwaDukuza has shown its true colours.

The Council was set to be inaugurated on November 16, but councillors received a notification at the eleventh hour stating that that this will be postponed due to non-availability of councillors.

The municipal manager intimated at an informal meeting on Friday November 12 that any councillor not available on the day must put in a leave form.

If the council has not been constituted, who is putting in leave?

The ANC must stop dictating to the officials of the municipality, and let them do the job that they are employed to do.

The ANC has 27 ward councillors and has 2 PR councillors.

There is no reason to stop the legislated process from taking place because of internal politics.

Local government elections are over. It is time to deliver the promises made to the electorate. It is time to get to work.
