#Letter: Real outrage or a publicity stunt?

Nelson Puckree questions the motive behind the recent protest outside the KwaDukuza courthouse over the Monswamy murders.

Nelson Puckree of Stanger Heights writes:

What is happening to humanity? Around the world, leaders wage wars for power and resources, killing innocent women and children without mercy.

KwaDukuza, once a beautiful town, is now plagued by crime – murders, rape, drugs, and prostitution in the open. Is our Constitution, often praised as one of the best, failing law-abiding citizens while appearing to favour criminals through provisions like legal aid?

I was moved by the community gathering outside the KwaDukuza Magistrate’s Court after the senseless murder of a local family. However, it was disappointing to see so many political party banners at what should have been a moment of unity.

Are these protests driven by genuine concern, or by political agendas? Many other victims in Stanger received no such attention – why the silence?

I appeal to all political parties: At the next court hearing, leave party regalia behind. Stand together as one community and show sincere support for grieving families.
