Ballito Pro underway

Surf action moved from Surfer's to Willard Beach.

The first day of the main Ballito Pro event started on Monday morning at 8.45am after the call was made to move the surf action from Surfer’s Beach to the bay at Willard Beach.

With the small swell, it was decided that the waves at Willard Beach delivered better conditions.

The men’s round of 96 kicked off with last year’s winner Tim Reyes from the USA ending up in fourth, with Brazil’s Wiggoly Dantas taking the win.

The men have been showing off their repertoire of aerial tricks and got some high scoring rides already.

South Africa’s Jordy Smith will be surfing in Heat 8 just after 12pm.

Smith will be surfing against Brent Dorrington from Australia, Granger Larsen from Hawaii and Tomas Fernandes from Puerto Rico.
