Rally series brings off road action to Dolphin Coast
Dads and lads, this is your time to enjoy some good old off road rally sprints
Spice up your weekend as you hear engines revving and racing around at the Natal Motorcycle and Car Club rally spring series at Waterfall farm in Upper Tongaat from 11.30am this Saturday.
According to one of the club’s members and avid Ballito car enthusiast, Kevin Cunningham, the rally sprint series happens in and around KZN and is made up of nine events in the year featuring rally cars, quad bikes and off road cars.
Cunningham said they have chosen to do a rally sprint series which is a more affordable version, as motor sport is normally very costly.
“The rally series consists of a specially marked off road stage, which is about 10 to 15 kilometres long and starts and finishes at the same place.
“The stage is run three to four times and the winner is chosen based on the fastest combined times,” said Cunningham who is the owner of Kev’s Auto Clinic in Ballito.
He said their car is a specially made Toyota Corolla RXi rally car which they totally rebuilt.
“It was bought as a second hand rally car, which I have rebuilt and I have been maintaining and housing this car since we started competing in it a couple of years ago.”
Go support to guys and maybe even join their club for some exciting motor sport action.
