Tough day in the park for rusty Dolphins
Both the first and second teams succumbed to a relentless UKZN attack.
After five weeks away, the Ballito Dolphins were back in action at Sugar Rush Park against UKZN last weekend.
The second team was completely outclassed by their opponents, whose backline seemed to find a gap in the Dolphins defence with every movement. The UKZN team ran in try after try to crush the local boys 55-12.
The first team started very strong in their match, with the forwards driving hard into the oppositions defence and making good gains. Unfortunately a red card for a tip-tackle in the first five minutes of the game left the Dolphins with only 14 men.

With a man down, the boys in yellow and blue had to step it up a gear if they hoped to win. The match turned into a try fest as the Dolphins eventually crossed the line six times – still not enough to keep up with the UKZN team who scored ten tries to beat our lads 66-30.
The first team put up a solid fight with a one man deficit against one of the strongest teams in the league, so they will be proud of their endurance, however if discipline had not let them down and they had gone the full 80 minutes with 15 men, it might have been a different game.
The Ballito Dolphins will go head to head with the Zululand Rhinos this weekend at Sugar Rush Park.
The second team will start their match at 2pm on Saturday with the first team kick off at 3.30pm.
