Get ready to find your inner Warrior!

Fuel up after the challenge at the beer tent and food stalls and relax to some good music.

Warm up your muscles and dose up on protein shakes as the Toyota Warrior Race #5 powered by Reebok is coming to the beautiful Blythedale Coastal Estate this weekend, July 14 and 15.

For the first time ever, the Toyota Warrior Race #5 will be accredited by and host the South African Obstacle Course Racing (OCR) Championships, according to Warrior’s SJ du Venage.

“The South African Obstacle Course Racing community has grown at an intense rate over the last couple of years, not only in numbers, but also in competitiveness. The timing is right to host a South African OCR Championship,” said Du Venage.

Set against the backdrop of pristine beaches, unspoiled forest, rivers and estuaries, it is no wonder the debut Warrior last year was a major hit.

The competing warriors’ endurance will be challenged as they conquer the carefully designed obstacle courses placed strategically over a specific trail.

There is no challenge a warrior cannot conquer.

There will be two divisions in the SA OCR Championships: Pro which will run on the 15km Black Ops Elite competition and Age Group following the 10km Commando Elite starting from U19 to 50 plus.

The top three male and female athletes in the Pro division will win cash prizes and a free entry into the Pro division of the 15km World Championships in London. The top male and female athletes from each age group of the second division will win cash prizes and a free entry into the Age Group division of the 15km World Championships in London.

The outdoor, family-friendly event offers four categories, making sure everyone at any fitness level can enter: Kids, Rookie, Commando and the extreme Black Ops.

If you are an energy bunny, the popular Reebok Sprint Race is the perfect opportunity to test your skills as it is a shorter course with high-speed action and big prize money.

Enter individually, as a team or round up your colleagues and go for the corporate packages to turn this into a fun team building exercise.

Fuel up after the challenge at the beer tent and food stalls and relax to some good music.

Remember to cool down on the 300 meter water slide at the Warrior – the longest water slide in Africa!

Tickets start from R400 and are available from www.warrior.co.za and the spectators entry fee is R30.
