Local warriors push it to the limit

The first hard man across the line was Thomas "Beast Mode" van Tonder.

Hundreds descended on the Blythedale Event Bowl over the weekend for the Toyota Warrior Race #5 powered by Reebok.

This was the first time that the Toyota Warrior Race was accredited as the SA Obstacle Course Racing Championships, and the first hard man across the line was Thomas “Beast Mode” van Tonder who powered through the final obstacles to bypass Claude Eksteen and claim the coveted first place with Trevor Lagerey in third.

Meanwhile Trish Eksteen was the first lady across the line, followed by Sabrina Daolio and Dominique D’Oliviera.

By finishing in the top three, these athletes have earned a spot in the world championships in London.
