MTN Corporate Golf Challenge puts Ilembe golf in the limelight

Celebrities such a Keegan Daniels, Andrew Blakeway, Brent Russel and Bobby van Jaarsveld joined local businessmen on the greens at Zimbali last week for the MTN Corporate Golf Challenge 2019.

The winners of the event, hosted by the iLembe Chamber, was the team from Siza Water, comprising of Thabiso Magwaza, Michael Sigasa, Thabo Zuma and Sphelele Luthuli.

The MTN Corporate Golf Challenge enables the iLembe Chamber to showcase the iLembe district’s golf tourism offerings.

MTN South Africa regional general manager Ernest Galelekile expressed his delight at being involved in the event, emphasizing MTN’s support of business through among others its superior cellular network.

He added that MTN has been voted South Africa’s best network, indicating its desire to become the preferred technology partner to business.

The iLembe Golf Club Challenge was won, for a second year in a row, by Umhlali Country Club, who also finished second in the overall Challenge.

UCC was represented by Derick Reinke, Brandon Erasmus, Dewaldt De Waal and Willie Horn, with Ernest Galelekile from MTN.

Zimbali Country Club finished third, followed by IFA Hotels & Resorts and the eLan Property Group.

The North Coast Courier team of Pieter Naudé, George Johnston, Jason Muller and Roy Moody finished in 6th place.

The winner of the Whirlpool donated KIC Chest Freezer was Dean Grove who played in the Royal HaskoningDHV team.

The other Corporate Challengers included: Gerhard Breedt Architect, Prince’s Grant Coastal Golf Estate and Lodge, Hirsch’s Ballito, Fiona Crago Real Estate, Blythedale Coastal Estate, Minesca Farming Group, Richmond Plumbing and Sanware, Avis Budget King Shaka International Airport, Royal HaskoningDHV – Simbithi Country Club and Fig Tree Restaurant, MTN South Africa and Enterprise iLembe.
