It was an eventful four days at the 2019 Commonwealth Dance Championships hosted at Sun City from July 17 to 20 with local dancers scooping gold in their respective age category.
The biennial event which began in 2017 convenes dancers from all Commonwealth nations to celebrate excellence in dance.
A total of 32 local dancers from Sugar Dance aged 14 – 47 competed in the dance championship and performed solo, duos and group routines in the disciplines of hip hop, street dance, jazz, lyrical and modern dance.
The Sugar Dance adult team took gold in their category and competed against dancers from five other countries in the event that has tripled in size since its inception two years ago.
