North Coast Dolphins swim to seconds
Last but not least, the team pulled together and every swimmer who took part contributed to the points which added to up to place the team overall in second place out of the 21 total competing clubs.
North Coast Dolphins Swim Team members did the team and the club proud at the recent 2019 KZN Junior Championships held at Kings Park in Durban.
With a strong team of 35 swimmers, the team placed second overall with a total of 897 points which the club explained was exceptional when taking into account that the winning club had a total of 66 athletes.
South African National Junior (SANJ) qualifiers included Megan Matthews. Megan, 12, swam qualifying times in the 100m and 200m freestyle.
Bailey Forrest, 12, also qualified in the 200m.
St John Spoors qualified in the 400m freestyle at a previous gala and Monica Botha, although an existing SANJ swimmer confirmed her qualifying times – a qualifying time allows swimmers to enter the 2020 SA National Junior Championships scheduled to take place at Kings Park in April.
