K9 agility tested at Galloping Winds

Dog owners got to show off the hard work and training they have done alongside their canine companions at the South African Dog Agility Association (SADAA) show at Galloping Winds on Sunday.
SADAA regional director, Craig Perelson, said the organisation had 77 members and 160 dogs. “We hold competitions such as the one on Sunday all over the province, where venues such as Galloping Winds allow us,” said Craig.
“Every year each region holds a regional competition which allows the competitors the opportunity to gain points towards being selected to represent South Africa in the International Federation of Cynological Sports World Agility Championships. Next year, they will be held in Belgium. I am hoping that KZN will be able to hold our very first regional trials in August 2020.”
Craig said they were very reliant on sponsorship for venues, equipment and prizes at events.
“The competitors put in a lot of training and exercise behind the scenes and members of the public only see a snippet of the work involved.”
