Awarding excellence at Umhlali Country Club

Good sportsmanship and a high standard of sporting excellence were celebrated at the Umhlali Country Club’s second sports awards evening, which was well attended by members on Wednesday, November 13.

“Whether they were representing Umhlali or themselves individually, the award winners achieved some amazing results and brought honour and prestige to the Club. These members are either golf, bowls, tennis or squash,” said Erasmus.
The club was awarded the John Collier Top Club Award for good governance and environmental compliance in May, hosted a successful festival and raised money for Furever Pet Rescue (R10 000) in March.
The club also hosted the three day classic golf tournament in September with 15 teams of four players, sponsored by Biztec before hosting the Inaugural Awards Evening.
She said they hoped to make this event one of the highlights of the local sporting calendar.
