Footy friends rally around Alex

Friends and family came together last Saturday to support one of Footy’s best cricket players, Alex Whitehead, who was diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic melanoma.

Manager Chester le Roux said the turn out showcased exactly why the Footy field was built in the first place.

“Kids, family and friends enjoyed one of the beautiful parks we have in Ballito with braais going, kids riding their choice of scooters, bicycles or skateboards and the ladies enjoying the sunshine while laughing at the boys on the indoor cricket field,” said Le Roux.

The day was filled with animated characters and chirps on and off the field, proving once again how special the Ballito community is when it comes to showing their support and love for one of our own.

“Thank you to everyone that played and supported this amazing day and we wish Alex all the best in his road to recovery,” said Footy owner, Kyle Crichton.

Footy is in full swing again with the soccer league kicking off this week.

The cricket and netball leagues will start with their warm up games next week.

Footy Kids academy is going strong with the young ones enjoying being out and about again with their friends.

The Footy kids academy offers cricket, soccer and netball for girls and boys aged 4 to 18.
