Newly promoted, Mandeni’s Black Lions soccer team need sponsors to keep playing in the ABC Motsepe League

Recently promoted to the second division and overall third tier in the country, Mandeni soccer team Black Lions may be put up for sale if they fail to find sponsors.
Team chairman Nkokhelo Zulu said they were the first team in Ilembe to be promoted to the ABC Motsepe League, previously known as the Vodacom League, from the local SAB league.
“It is exciting that we made people of our region proud,” said Zulu.
“But without financial support will not be able to continue playing in the league.”

The 27-player strong team The Black Lions clinched their promotion on Sunday, November 22 in Mnambithi between Estcourt and Newcastle during the playoffs against the best of the district’s teams in KZN.
“We have been trying to get here for years and now that we have, it is our mission to get sponsored and ensure that we do well within the league and keep on raising the Ilembe district flag high,” said Zulu.
He thanked regional South African Football Association and Mandeni Municipality for sponsoring the team at the playoffs.
