Riding high at 2021 Sea Harvest KZN Grommet Games
The iLembe Surf Riders team, made up of 22 boys and girls, displayed great team spirit as they joined eThekweni, Ugu and King Cetshwayo as the fourth district in the KZN Surfriders Association, which is one of 4 provinces that make up Surfing South Africa.
Ilembe Surf Riders U14 boys division winner Ry Colepeper successfully clinched first place in his age group at the 2021 Sea Harvest KZN Grommet Games.
Close to 100 girls and boys from 4 districts took part in the event organised by the Department of Sport, Arts and Culture at Durban’s Dairy Beach on Saturday and Sunday March 21 and 22.

The Grommet Games features 8 divisions for girls and boys with the youngest surfers in the contest competing in the Under 8 division and the oldest taking part in the competitive Under 16 boys and girls group.
The annual event is Surfing South Africa’s premier entry level inter-provincial tournament.
