Another solid year for Dolphin Coast Paddlers
The club, which is based at Dudley Pringle Dam, has a healthy membership of over 70 paddlers, catering for both canoeing and surf ski disciplines.
Dolphin Coast Paddlers (DCP) had another strong year in 2021 with good finishes at a number of big events, including the Dusi canoe marathon.
Canoeing was among the first sports allowed back in training and competition following the complete Covid-19 ban and DCP members were able to enjoy a reasonably complete summer season.
The club, which is based at Dudley Pringle Dam, has a healthy membership of over 70 paddlers, catering for both canoeing and surf ski disciplines.
They recently held their AGM and prizegiving at the Elaleni Beach Club in Salt Rock where they were able to honour 2021’s top achievers.
Trophy winners for the 2020/2021 season were:
Novice of the Year – Johan Jansen van Vuuren
Most Improved – Doug Orchison
Best Dusi Finisher – Jarryd Walker
Lady Paddler of the Year – Pippa McGregor
Canoeist of the Year – Jarryd Walker
Surf Ski Paddler of the Year – Barry Lewin
Chairman’s Award – Paul Tait
Paddler of the Year – Jarryd Walker
