Ntshawini goes cycling in celebration of Youth Day
About 100 children and adults took part in the 10km and 40km races held in celebration of Youth Day at the launch of the second branch of Gxoba Istibulo Academy for Cycling Development in Ntshawini.
It was an electrifying experience to witness the excitement on children’s faces as they took part in a 10km cycle race in Ntshawini last Wednesday.
About 100 children and adults took part in the 10km and 40km races.
The races were held in celebration of Youth Day at the launch of the second branch of Gxoba Istibulo Academy for Cycling Development in Ntshawini.
The academy was started in 2015 in Shaka’s Head by Goodman Manqele with about 50 children.
At the academy children learn to ride and how to fix and take care of their bicycles.
“Thanks to KwaDukuza municipality for giving us a venue and permission to host the event and all other sponsors who came on board to make the day a success. I am very humbled and appreciative of all the support we received. Thank you,” said Manqele.
