Tee off for orphans at Umhlali Country Club sees more than R50k raised
Orphan Fund coordinator, Mpume Vilakazi said that she was amazed at the generosity of people, who gave so freely in order to make the day a success.
The North Coast Courier Orphan Fund annual golf day saw 20 teams tee off in support of North Coast charities.
The event, held at Umhlali Country Club last Friday, is a major fundraiser for the Orphan Fund which looks after orphans and vulnerable children.
In an amazing feat, this year’s event was the most successful in recent years, raising R51 380.
The day was won by Shane Blewitt and his team, winning a 2-night stay at the Wild Coast.
There was no winner of the hole-in-one prize of R50 000 sponsored by PSG.
Thanks are extended to sponsors Marshall Security for their R10 000 donation, and Umhlali Country Club for hosting the event.
Rotary Zimbali came to the table by providing a recliner valued R12 000, that made R6 000 for the Fund in auction.
Further thanks go to sponsors, Ballito Lifestyle Centre, Tiffany’s Spar, Lali Foods, Ithala Bank, Gledhow Sugar Company and a number of Ballito businesses which sponsored a variety of vouchers.
