You don’t need to be a pro to join Ballito Challengers’ last man stands cricket team
LMS connects amateur cricketers all over the world through its global ranking system.

A local cricket team, Ballito Challengers, recently qualified for the Last Man Stands (LMS) national championships in Johannesburg.
The team will play 2 games on Friday, September 24. If they top the group by winning both games they qualify for the quarter finals on Saturday.
Semi and finals are on Sunday, September 26 and the winning team will play in the international championships.
The LMS league’s franchise was bought by Ballito resident Dhiraj Arbee and ex-local Prenesen Moodley in June to cater for social players and fans.

LMS is a 2 hour, 8-a-side, T20 cricket game played on cricket grounds globally and local games usually take place at Gledhow sports field.
“It is all done in the name of love and passion for cricket. There are so many people who like cricket but cannot afford to spend the whole day playing or watching a game. This social league will fill in that gap,” said Arbee.
Currently, there are 16 teams from Ballito, Tongaat and Durban.
Arbee said residents can join as a team or individuals.
“You do not have to be a pro, if you want to play you can join and take it from there. It’s about fun and we get to enjoy the game we love.”
LMS connects amateur cricketers all over the world through its global ranking system. The LMS website stores and displays all team and individual player profiles with full career history.

Every player receives a global batting, bowling, and all-rounder ranking. This ranking system allows a player to compare their rankings and stats to friends playing LMS in other parts of the world.
Every game of LMS is live scored and with the introduction of the new broadcast app in 2021, there are now many games live-streamed.
