Beginning in Sea Point, the runners made their way up into Gardens, before looping back around the Southern Suburbs to finish at the Cape Town stadium.

David Fick was the best Dolphin finisher, coming 131st in the senior category with a blistering time of 2h45m.

That makes for an unbelievable pace of just less than 4 minutes per kilometre!

Seniors Nic Acampora (2h54m), Ross Olivier (2h57m), Blake Mackay-Leslie (2h57m) and Stuart Schabram (3h1m) were not far behind.

Gillian Sieling had perhaps the best performance of everyone, finishing 4th in the 50-59 category which was good for 89th overall.

Her time of 3h19m meant that she comfortably broke the coveted 5 minutes per kilometre time barrier, showing that she can still compete with the best.

Matthew Sykes (senior), Debbie Holland (50 – 59), Leah Gindra (senior), Joanne Lin (60 – 69) and Harriet Kruger (60 – 69) all finished the marathon with admirable times.

“Well done to all of our members who ran the Cape Town Marathon, we are super proud of each and every one of you,” said chairman Arthur Bertram.
