Captain’s Cup winners crowned at Umhlali Country Club

The 4-ball alliance competition was held on both Saturday and Sunday, with 18 holes played on both days as golfers teed off on day one facing a downpour of rain.

More than 120 players took to the Umhlali Country Club fairways last weekend for the 2-day long Captain’s Cup tournament, the club’s largest annual golfing event.

Camaraderie and jokes were plentiful among golfers on both days.

First place went to teammates Musa Khumalo, Thabiso Magwaza, Nziwakhe Dlamini and Thobani Msimang with 184 points, followed on 175 points by Derick Reinke, Jason Herbst, Kobus Grove and Johan Holtzhausen.

Finishing third with 174 points, were Warrick Cryer, Greg Payne, Chad Germanus and Winston Pauts.
