North Coasters swing for a good cause raising R21 000 for Orphan Fund
The event is one of the most significant fundraisers for the Orphan Fund every year, organised by Ballito residents Malcolm and Michelle Mann and their family.
More than R21 000 was raised for The North Coast Courier Orphan Fund at the annual Ballito Open golf day last week.
A full field of the North Coast’s top golfers took up the challenge, swinging their way around Umhlali Country Club on December 29 – all for a good cause.
The event is one of the most significant fundraisers for the Orphan Fund every year, organised by Ballito residents Malcolm and Michelle Mann and their family.
The favourable conditions ensured good scoring.
Angus Whitelaw, Brendon Mitchell, Scott Hobson and Barry O’Leary claimed first place with 93 points.
They were closely followed by MP Ferreira, Bryan Hellon, Meti Yiallouris and Malcolm Mann, who carded 90 points.
Special thanks goes to local businesses who sponsored tee boxes – Metrofibre, Mascor John Deere, Tiffany’s Spar and Inkunzi RMC.
DecoRoyale also sponsored two art pieces, one of which was auctioned off for R1 250, with the other entered as a raffle prize.
Orphan Fund co-ordinator, Mpume Vilakazi, expressed her gratitude for the hard work of all stakeholders involved in the fundraiser.
