Ashton College celebrates Grade 10 Cambridge results
Van Buuren noted the only subject scoring an average in the mid-70s was Afrikaans, with business, accounting, music and French scoring in the 80s, and English, mathematics, geography, history, biology, physical sciences and computer sciences all averaging above 90%.
It was a full-house round of applause at Ashton International College Ballito on Tuesday as Grade 10 Cambridge results were released, much to the delight of the pupils who obtained a collective 134 As across the grade.
Now in Grade 11, tensions ran high among the pupils as senior college head, Jenny van Buuren prepared to release the results.
But hard work paid off and it was high fives all round as the pupils celebrated their results.
Van Buuren noted the only subject scoring an average in the mid-70s was Afrikaans, with business, accounting, music and French scoring in the 80s, and English, mathematics, geography, history, biology, physical sciences and computer sciences all averaging above 90%.
“We are beyond stoked about these results and are so proud of our pupils who performed beyond what was thought possible,” Van Buuren said.
An average of 4.45 distinctions were measured per pupil.
The top five pupils were Haley van Staden in first, followed by Yodheya Govender, Kyle Neethling, Muhammad Khan and April Drew. All scored 6 distinctions aside of Kyle’s 7 distinctions.
Of the entire Grade 10 collective, 77.4% scored As.
