Rules & Regulations

  1. No wading in the water, all bank anglers must remain on the bank and may not enter the water.
  2. Water craft: Kick boats, paddle skis and small inflatable paddle boats are allowed.  No motors. Maximum 2 people per craft.
  3. All craft will be inspected to make sure they are “sea worthy” (generally safe to fish from).
  4. All craft anglers must have a life jacket (to be worn while launching the craft).
  5. No anglers will be permitted to fish unless they have signed an indemnity form and wear the event wristband.
  6. Care should be taken not to hold the fish out of the water for longer than a minute. Please keep the fish wet as long as possible and do not allow the fish to be placed on the grass as this removes its protective coating.
  7. Registration will begin at 8am. Anglers can start fishing as soon as they are registered.  Patrons may not bring food. The restaurant offers a wide selection of food and drinks.
  8. Sporting behaviour and respect for other anglers are imperative.
  9. The dam is on private property and has been sponsored for this event by the landowners. Please respect the fauna and flora and the privacy of the landowners. Any abuse will see us forfeiting any future use of these facilities.
  10. Do not litter! There are refuse bins provided. HEFTY FINES IF YOU ARE CAUGHT LITTERING. Please make sure discarded fishing line is destroyed as birdlife do tend to get caught up and sustain severe injuries.
  11. In case of bad weather, the event will continue. Please come prepared nevertheless.
