Short film tells heartwarming story of how Ndwedwe runner’s dreams came true

The film also shows how Sinovuyo Ngcobo's development as an athlete has led to him becoming a coach for the youth.

The premiere of local short film Gijima which premiered at LIV Village, Cottonlands recently, clearly illustrates that despite our societal differences, people connect through things they share – in this case running.

Produced by Wandering Fever, the short film details the early life of Ndwedwe resident Sinovuyo Ngcobo, the mentorship he received from world-famous Cape Town trail runner Ryan Sandes, and how Ngcobo overcame his challenges to become a formidable runner.

Apart from his own running, he also coaches young athletes and provides them with the opportunity of following their dreams through the LIV2Run initiative, founded by local athlete Lindi Meyer.
