Railways Cricket Club issues call for players

The club, established in 1948, is probably one of the oldest cricket clubs on the North Coast and currently fields three junior and three senior teams.

The Railways Cricket Club in Tongaat invites cricketers of all ages to a coaching clinic at Crawford College North Coast on Saturday at 9am.

Players in the U11, U13, U15 and above 15 age categories are welcome to attend.

CSA certified Level 3 coaches Dhiraj Arbee and Devan Naidu, as well as new Railways CC coach Cody Gertze and first team players, will be in attendance.

Gertze has a wealth of experience as both player, coach and manager. His experience extends from being part of the Dolphins Cricket Academy to playing cricket as an overseas professional in the United Kingdom.

Unfortunately, the club currently only has male teams, but is looking forward to incorporate women’s teams in the future.

For more information, contact club chairman Anthony Chellan at 084 5552 259 or secretary Amith Maharaj at 083 2499 618.
