Ballito Bulldog shows mettle to grab debut victory

His plucky performance in his first fight has granted him crowd-favourite status and he has been invited to compete in the MFC119, the next event in the series on December 1.

Local mixed martial arts (MMA) fighter Lucky Hamadziripi hung on through a tough fight to claim victory in his first competitive outing last weekend.

The Ballito Bulldog has been training under the watchful eye of coach Guy Sheehan, preparing for his debut bout, the MFC118 which was held at Sibaya Casino.

Facing off against the taller Okuhle Dlamini from Shuriken Gym in Newcastle, Hamadziripi had to keep his cool through three rounds, dealing expertly with the reach deficit.

The fight ebbed and flowed, getting the crowd on their feet for the announcement of Hamadziripi as winner by split decision.

His great first fight and result has granted him crowd-favourite status and he has been invited to compete in MFC119, the next event in the series on December 1.
