Retro Riders surfing event sees board riders tear up Tiffany’s Beach

At least 65 surfers participate in the Retro fun day surfing competition.

Hundreds of spectators were treated to a stunning performance by at least 65 surfers at the Retro Riders family fun day at Tiffany’s beach on Sunday morning.

Wayne Duncan of North Coast Board Riders and Gliders (NC-Brag) said the retro fun session had been a unique event.

“All thanks to Ritchie Kidd, who headed up the event and did a great job. We only allowed old boards, single fin and twin fin boards. We would also like to thank our main sponsor Singlefin,” said Duncan.

Juzzy Sykes and Ross Herman ready for action.

A moment of silence was observed for the late Tyde Duncan (19) who died in ICU on October 26 after a tragic car accident.

The Best Surfer award went to Rich Cowen, the Most Stylish was Justin Sykes and the coolest team was The Barrel.

Just Add Acid won the Most Soulful Team prize and the Bissetts were named the Best-Dressed Family.

A beach clean-up and Jive with Jen events kept the children busy on the sand throughout the event.
