KickStart runners reach halfway mark

The excited group reached five weeks of the programme on Saturday, marking it with a quick 5km run, after which they took stock of their progress at Concha Café.

Dolphin Coast Striders runners in the KickStart programme last weekend celebrated the halfway point of their fitness journey.

The programme is run by Striders in conjunction with SA Biokineticists and Blair Shipping and aims to get entrants running a 10km race after 10 weeks of a specially designed training schedule.

Ideally, the KickStart schedule should be able to get a non-runner off the couch and into race shape, meaning people of all fitness levels can participate.

It is now all systems go for the Checkstar Challenge 10km race on April 30, where the runners will truly get to prove their growth in the sport.
