Narrow margins at Umhlali Country Club

The team of Caryl Legassick and Gill Lonsdale reigned supreme.

Umhlali Country Club’s women golfing contingent last week played one of the closest fought events in years.

In the June better ball stableford competition, three pairs earned 43 points, with a three-way count out needed to crown a winner.

The team of Caryl Legassick and Gill Lonsdale reigned supreme, while Frances Tremearne and Shelley Payne had to settle for second place.

Estelle Elliot and Shirley Chalupsky rounded out the trio of 43-point scorers.

In the two club challenge, Theresa Rattray won the 6th hole, while Tremearne and Fiona Crago shared the 11th.
