Good turnout at autism charity golf day at Umhlali Country Club

Max Badenhorst and John Sawyer emerged victorious, followed by Roshan and Karum Maharaj, and Etienne Oosthuizen and Wayne Oberholzer.

The Mikhail D iHope Foundation supporting youth with autism and other special needs recently held its first Ballito Father’s Day charity golf day at the Umhlali Country Club.

While funds raised are still being tallied, the well-supported fundraiser served as a means of bringing the foundation closer toward realising its dream of opening an autism centre for young adults from 18 to 25.

iHope founder, Dr Basil Dhaniram, said they were busy with the initial stages of the centre.

Once construction is complete – due to start once enough funds have been raised – the centre will address the growing need for young adults living with autism, as the current centre is only capable of helping people with autism up to the age of 18.

“The Ballito Father’s Day charity golf day will be an annual event going forward. We thank all our sponsors and participants who made the golf day such a success,” said Dr Dhaniram.

Max Badenhorst and John Sawyer emerged victorious, followed by Roshan and Karum Maharaj, and Etienne Oosthuizen and Wayne Oberholzer.
