Golf fundraiser goes large for Umhlali Preparatory School

School principal Sandy Wiggill expressed her gratitude to all stakeholders involved in making the day a huge success.

A massive amount of about R250 000 was raised at Umhlali Preparatory School’s annual golf day fundraiser at Umhlali Country Club last Friday.

A full field of players, generous sponsorships and an auction all contributed significantly to the school’s planned R1-million multi-sport facility.

This floodlit artificial turf will incorporate an indoor hockey pitch, mini soccer field, a full-size hockey goal area, four netball hoops and seven retractable cricket nets.

Young North Coast golf prodigy Carter Ross, a Grade 1 pupil at the school, handed out the individual prizes at the golf day. He is pictured here with Jaymee-Lee Steyn, head of netball at the school.

School principal Sandy Wiggill expressed her gratitude to all stakeholders involved in making the day a huge success, especially title sponsor Suzuki Salt Rock.

Among the various auction items were two e-bikes from Southbound Bikes and a four-day holiday for 12 people at Balistidae Private Resort in Mozambique.
