Groms shred at Willard Beach

In the boys event, Tayler beat out Riley Balfour, Daniel Edwards and Ashton Sangster.

Nathan Tayler and Catherine Jacob reigned supreme in the Ballito Surf School high-performance surf contest last weekend.

Held on Saturday and Sunday at Willard Beach, the contest drew the best in local under-18 surf talent for a final shot at silverware this year.

The winners were predictable, as both Tayler and Jacob have had a strong year.

Tayler finished on top of the overall U14 boys South African Surf Tour standings, claiming four individual contest wins along the way.

Jacob was crowned the overall U16 girls champion in the iLembe Surfing Championships, also winning the open women contest.

They delivered yet again this past weekend in good spring surfing conditions.
