Umhlali Country Club golf day raises more than R200 000 for SA Golf Academy

Academy founder Eric Mhlongo expressed his gratitude to all participants and supporters for their generosity.

Almost R200 000 was raised for the SA Golf Academy after its golf day launch at Umhlali Country Club last week.

Sixty golfers showed up for the event, while many more contributed prizes, donations and sponsorships.

Freddy Shezi, Rowan Pillay, Vusi Mkhwanazi and Radley Pillay were the top fourball on the day with 93 points.

But it was the Academy that won big in its bid to upskill the next generation of underprivileged golfers, first on the North Coast and then hopefully countrywide.

Young Luyanda Gumede showed promise with his silky swing.

Founder Eric Mhlongo thanked all involved for their support.
