iLembe nurtures future cricket umpires with intensive course

Local clubs and schools gained insights into the laws and responsibilities of officiating on the pitch during the course.

The next generation of cricket umpires in iLembe are on their way.

Representatives from local clubs and schools were recently hosted at Palm Dunes Blythedale for a three-day umpiring course.

Prospective umpires learnt how to give batsmen their line.

There they learnt the laws of the game and ins and outs of being the rule enforcers on the cricket pitch.

The course was run in partnership with the iLembe Cricket Union, KZN Cricket Union and Department of Arts and Culture.
