Ballito’s Fairview Polo team recently rode their way to a stylish victory at the prestigious Heineken Cup in Johannesburg.

The team from Fairview Estate competed against players from around the country over three days of thrilling action at the Inanda Polo Club in Sandton, culminating in a cracking final on September 14.

Fairview’s Leanne Spark, Sergio Mendes, Nico van Wyk and Steven Stewart combined sharp attack with disciplined defence to outplay Sergeant Reckless Polo, sealing a 9-5 win.

Alongside their commanding team victory, Fairview’s quartet also collected several individual honours. For decisive plays and calm leadership, Stewart was named the tournament’s Most Valuable Player, while Fulfil Your Dreams – the pony ridden by Van Wyk – claimed the Best Playing Pony award for its speed and agility.
