Dolphin Coast Grandiose Soccer Club players were out in force as they hosted a fun-filled day of football at Footy.

All Stars emerged as tournament winners, while the Grandiose players opened the event with an exhibition match.

The tournament formed part of the club’s outreach programme, aimed at encouraging youngsters from the Shaka’s Head informal settlement to get involved in sport. Organisers hope to foster a love of soccer among young people and the wider community.

Footy owner Kyle Crichton supported the initiative by providing the facilities free of charge. KwaDukuza municipality’s sports and recreation department sponsored medals, trophies and soccer equipment, with additional support from local businesses, community members and club members.
