Taking a dip for charity

Slimline Pools contestant will raise funds for charity.

Slimline Pools win-a-pool contestant Trenley Tilbrook has a double goal at this year’s endurance contest – to win a pool and to raise funds for orphans.

Trenley is well known on the Dolphin Coast, as former CEO of the Ilembe Chamber of Commerce and Industry and now working in property development.

He is one of 15 men and women who will be taking part in the competition to be held at the Ballito Junction Shopping Centre from this Friday, June 26, and over the coming weekend.

The contestants will have to stand – and perform various tests – in the icy open-air pool for as long as possible. Last man (or woman) out wins a free swimming pool installed at their home. Last year’s winner, Tammy Colley of Foxhill, lasted an incredible 55 hours without sleep.

Tilbrook has found 12 sponsors who will donate R5 each for every hour he stays in the pool – and he will donate every cent to the North Coast Courier Orphan Fund.

He is appealing for other businesses to offer their sponsorship. He may be contacted on 082 496 2169.

* Wordsmiths (Pty) Ltd, publishers of the North Coast Courier, Get It magazine and Fast Finder will be sponsoring Tilbrook R10 for every hour in the pool – and challenges other businesses and individuals to do the same!
