Amazing turnout for Umhlali market

Taking the village back, one market at a time!

The Umhlali Village was a bustling hive of activity on Saturday to the like that has not been seen there in many years.

This was due to the influx of people supporting the village’s new monthly market, which boasted more than 85 stall holders with a variety of food, crafts and clothes for sale.

Visitors like Celiwe Mthembu from Shakaville were excited about the market and said she will encourage her friends in the townships to visit.

Annegret Waldeck was equally excited: “This market is bringing back the vibe to this town and to me it is the best market so far,” she said.

Organiser Vernon Malyon said he was surprised by the fantastic turn out and said the market will take place on the last Saturday of every month.
