Restaurant Review: Delish Sisters

Our resident foodie hops over to the Litchi Orchard to review the Delish Sisters.

How nice is the Litchi Orchard looking with the renovations now complete. Really stunning! I have heard so much about the Delish Sisters who are based there that I decided to give them a try and I was really looking forward to this eating experience.

I would recommend booking in advance as they seem to be very popular on the weekends. They were fully booked when we arrived but fortunately a few of my friends were willing to share their table with us.

The Delish Sisters offer quite a unique dining experience. We enjoyed their harvest table which is like a buffet, but instead of paying one standard price you pay for the weight of the food on your plate.

One thing I really liked about reviewing them was that I enjoyed the same food as everybody else, so I could be sure there was no way for me to have been given special treatment.

The selection they have on offer is impressive. The flavours are very different to what you would find normally on the North Coast. Each dish is quite unique, so much so that after you have finished dishing up there are just so many flavours on your plate that it could almost become jarring. The slow roasted lamb shank was very tender and cooked to perfection, but the pork sausage with onion chutney was by far my favourite.

To go with that they served quinoa cakes. It was the first time I had tasted quinoa and I found it really delicious!

When it comes to the pricing, it is hard to tell how reasonable or expensive they are because you pay for the weight. Our two plates were R88.40 and R90 which is pretty much the going rate for a main course currently in most restaurants.

What is nice is if you are not a big eater you can still enjoy a smaller meal without paying the price of a full meal.

Let me not forget to mention the stunning desserts they have.

I had the Turkish delight cheesecake which was without a doubt one of the best melt in the mouth desserts I have had in a while.

The flavours are incredible with every dish that the Delish Sisters create.
