Storming into Hollywood

North Coast teenager ready for the spotlight.

Crawford College North Coast pupil, Storm Mirtle is jetsetting into a future on stage and in front of the camera.

The 17-year-old blonde has just returned from an international arts showcase where she has received call backs and an invitation to attend the stage auditions in Orlando, Florida in July 2016.

This success did not come without a lot of practice, dedication and hard work.

Mirtle has been grooming herself for the glamour hills of Hollywood from the tender age of about three years, with her mom cheer-leading her all the way.

“My mom taught me that I can do anything if I really put my mind to it, and work hard enough to achieve it,” said Mirtle.

She sure has achieved a lot as she has gained accolades in drama, dance, singing and modelling.

“One should never give up on your dreams and a dream is never too big to achieve, if you have enough passion.”

The multi-talented lady can break it down hip-hop style or keep it classical on pointe and has performed on various stages including the Pretoria Youth Theatre.

“My first passion is drama, followed closely by dance and the singing and modelling just followed suit.”

“My drama mentor at Crawford College North Coast, Melissa Wood is highly committed and such an inspiration. I love the high level of cultural input the school offers,” said Mirtle, who recently joined Footworx Studio in Ballito.

The next step is to attend a cultural boot camp in Johannesburg in January and start the grooming process for the trip to the USA.

At this showcase held at Walt Disney World, the organisers bring representatives and scouts from well-known companies such as 21st Century Fox, Sony, MGM and Nickelodeon.

The chances of getting a booking for dance videos, voice overs or movie parts are extremely high and is a huge stepping stone for budding performers and models.

This trip is very costly, which is why Storm has started a fund raising campaign to reach this dream journey.
